About
Lynden & Donna Hall
Donna and Lynden Hall are the co-founders and Senior Ministers of Mountain Movers Ministries, Inc. Having served as Senior Pastors for 20+ years both now focus entirely on the divine mission to which God has now called them. That mission is, “Proclaim the Power of Jesus Christ to All Generations.” This mission is completed by following the example of Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:23 to preach, teach and do good. Through anointed teaching, truth proclaiming and blessing the family of God, Donna and Lynden are witnessing the power of God’s Holy Spirit manifest in the lives of faith filled believers.
Hi, I’m Lynden!
I grew up in the rural community of Addie just outside of Sylva, NC. My mother, Patsy, struggled to raise five children as a single mother but she refused to give up on any of us. It was the demonstration of this persistence and the influence of my grandparents, Dewitt and Dorcas Parris, that laid the foundation for a strong work ethic and no-quit determination. When I was 10 years old I began selling and delivering the GRIT newspaper in this rural community. Spreading news started in me at a young age and later in life I would accept the call from God to spread "The Good News" of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sin.
I was formally educated and trained as a Registered Nurse at Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hickory, NC, where a desire to assist the sick and hurting would become a reality. Although a career as an emergency room nurse, EMT first responder and a firefighter provided me ample opportunity to respond to persons in need and crisis I still had an emptiness inside of me that was not being filled by these noble jobs.
May 10, 1998, having been a luke-warm church attender all my life, in a small community church in Sylva, NC, I was introduced to the baptism of the Holy Spirit of God. I received this baptism and transformation from just participating in the church process and knowing about Jesus suddenly became a revelation and reality of a personal relationship with the man Jesus Himself. Twenty-eight years later this personal relationship and revelation of HIS eternal abounding love for me and to me continues to grow.
As co-founder, with Donna my wife of thirty-eight years, of Mountain Movers Ministries, Inc. God has called us to proclaim the power of Christ to all generations. We have faithfully served in every area of church ministry as devoted servants, as Associate Pastors, as Senior Pastors and Apostolic Oversight. God has called us to unite and strengthen the body of Christ until HIS coming.
Favorite Scripture: Luke 4:18,19
Favorite Food: Without hesitation my favorite food is Southern Chicken and Dumplings. On snow days in the mid 1960s when school was closed, my mother would load us all into the 1961 Chevrolet Impala, take us to Nanny Dorcas' house, where we would join with the other cousins and feast on her Southern Chicken and Dumplings. There was always enough to feed a small army, which we were.
Favorite Time of Year: Spring - because I have always truly loved this time of renewal as everything awakens and begins to reach toward its Creator.
Hi, I’m Donna!
Growing up on Hyatt Creek Road outside of Waynesville, NC every time my family and I would leave the house and return I could see a giant cross sitting on top of a nearby mountain. In the day it reflected the sun and at night it was lit with a fluorescent glow. It could be seen for miles. To this day it is a reminder to me of the mercy and grace that Christ Himself poured out for me on the cross at Calvary. Growing up in a loving Christian family I was taught the meaning and significance of the cross of Jesus.
Having grown up at the foot of this cross it was a constant reminder of the lessons that I learned as a child and teenager while attending Grace Episcopal Church of the Mountains in Waynesville, NC. Family has always been important to me and my relationship with Christ has been the foundation from which I married, became a mother and raised two wonderful children who were taught to love, trust, and serve the Lord. These lessons remained deep in my spirit and have strengthened my faith throughout college, throughout motherhood, as co-owner of a business with my husband, co-founder of Mountain Movers Ministries, and as Pastors of Faith Family Church and WNC Freedom Center.
My mother, grandmother and many many others instilled in me faith in the promises of God that the sacrifice of Jesus bought and paid for on the cross at Calvary. This deep rooted faith in the truth of the Word of God has produced much fruit in my life and none as crucial in 1998 when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and given a death sentence by this diagnosis. Because my faith was rooted in the truth of God's word I stand before people today completely healed and proclaim the power of Christ to all generations.
My greatest joy is to be in God's presence in prayer, praise, worship, service to others and through teaching His Word. Family remains my most important and cherished pastime and a close second is spending time in my rose garden and in our beautiful home with my dog Milla. I also enjoy photography.
Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 40:31
Favorite Food: Grilled Salmon of any kind.
Favorite Time of Year: Spring - the deadness of winter is giving way to new life, blooming flowers, singing birds and God's creation is being renewed to show off His power.
