Don't Get Burned

Early one morning, Donna and I were enjoying coffee time on our front porch Next to our home is a large flourishing maple tree full of beautiful branches and green leaves. I then noticed this one branch that was disconnected from the tree hanging lifelessly among the multitude of living branches. Jesus said to us, "I am the vine, you are the branches He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered, and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15: 5-7 (NKJV)

Many times in our lives and ministries, we get so busy with day-to-day life challenges and tasks that we forget to abide in the living Word of God. This can lead to burnout and emotional and mental disconnection from the life-giving word of Jesus.  Suddenly we find ourselves hanging on lifelessly with the danger of getting burned by the world and its systems. We encourage you to slow down, reduce the chaos in your life, make time for Jesus Christ, prayer and His Word.  You are too valuable to the body of Christ to become withered, lifeless and get burned.  God bless.
